Isa bin Khalid Al-Khalifa is the Founder and Managing Director of Seaspring, bringing with him over fifteen years of experience in the financial services sector.

During his tenure in this industry, it became increasingly evident to Isa that available investment opportunities were often subpar in nature, resulting in inferior deals for investors.  This led him to conceive and eventually establish Seaspring.

Prior to Seaspring, Isa played an instrumental role as a Private Equity Associate at Oasis Capital Bank, where he raised US $245 million in paid-up capital, in addition to establishing a clean-tech focused fund.  Prior to this, Isa was Assistant Manager of Corporate Banking and Finance at Citibank Bahrain, where he was a key member of the team that oversaw the refinancing of Aluminum Bahrain’s (Alba) potline 5.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance followed by a Master of Science degree in Global Financial Analysis from Bentley University, today, Isa is focused on developing Seaspring’s client portfolios by bringing a personalised and result-oriented approach to businesses and clients alike.

Isa has been an Independent Board Member of Alba since 2020, and also serves on the board of Wedge Networks Inc., a portfolio company of Seaspring based in Canada.  In 2024, he was appointed to the board of Khaleeji Bank.
